1993

Discovered over 400 policies sold by agents using dishonest sales methods such as churning, piggy-backing, premium misdirection, vanishing premium fraud, forged signatures and even falsified illustrations.

1994 - 1995

Reported my 1993 findings to the California State Department of Insurance. Assisted with the State’s investigation of Metropolitan Life until it was halted by former Insurance Commissioner Quackenbush.
Investigator for California Class Action in which MetLife policy holders alleged agents used “twisting,” “churning,” fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of the covenant of good faith and unfair business practices in the sale of replacement life insurance policies. Case Status: Settled Out of Court in excess of $1 billion. Case Name: Green v. Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Judge Presiding: The Honorable Lucy Kelly McCable (San Francisco County Superior Court)
Investigated a life insurance case in which a gay couple in Los Banos, CA was not allowed to name their partner as beneficiary. Reported findings to the California State Department of Insurance and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (Fresno office.)
Consultant for the Farmer’s New World Life Insurance company. Developed Life Insurance Specialist position and met with policy holders to explain their insurance policies.

1995

Worked for The Guardian Life Insurance Company’s, Stockton, CA branch, in sales, quality assurance, and customer service.

1996

Investigated a Prudential insurance agent accused of "windowing" signatures per the request of the Security Exchange Commission (S.E.C.). Interviewed co-workers, gathered information and reported findings back to the S.E.C. Case Status: Agent's license permanently revoked.
Consultant to attorneys at Anderson, Kill & Olick who were investigation Prudential Insurance Company.
Named as Expert Witness in Metlife trail in California: Case Status: Settled Out of Court in 1997. Law Firm: J. Gary Gwilliam, Esq.

1997

Chosen as guest speaker at an Insurance Fraud seminar hosted by the Nader organization in San Francisco, CA.
Investigated nearly a dozen life insurance cases involving Allstate Insurance Company. Case Status: Settled out of court in 1998. Law Firm: Gary M. Maxwell, Esq.
Retained as consultant with Casper, Meadows, Swartz & Cook law firm who represented several Allstate policy owners. Case Status: Settled out of court in 1998.

1998

Worked with representatives of the John Hancock Insurance Company to determine whether a series of mistakes had been made by either an agent or the policy owners.

2000

Named as an Expert Witness in a case involving the Sun Life Insurance Company. Case Status: Settled out of court in 2001. Law Firm: Heller Ehrman White and McAuliffe, LLP in San Francisco, CA.
Chosen as guest speaker at the Viatical Academy held in Newport Beach, CA. Present an Outstanding Service award to the California State Department of Insurance’s Senior Staff Counsel, Cindy Ossias, Esq. This award honored Ms. Ossias for "blowing the whistle" on CA’s former Insurance Commissioner, Chuck Quackenbush.
Investigated Allstate Life Insurance Company for Vanishing Premium Fraud in Santa Barbara County. Case Status: Settled out of court. Law Firm: Parichan, Renberg, Crossman & Harvey of Fresno, CA.

2001

Gave expert opinion in the McAuliffe v. Guardian Life Insurance Company in San Francisco Superior Court. Case Status: Settled out of court in 2002. Law Firms: Heller Ehrman White and McAuliffe v. Guardian Life Insurance Company.

2002

Expert, Consultant / Investigator for nearly 100 cases against American Income Life Insurance Company. Case Status: Settled out of court in 2004. Law Firm: Casper, Meadows, Schwartz and Cook, Contra Costa County.

2004

2009

Investigated over 30 cases of misrepresentation and Vanishing Premium Fraud at Americo Annuity and Life Insurance Company. Case Status: Settled out of court in 2011. Law Firm: Born, Pape and Shewan, L.L.P. of Clovis, CA.
Investigated VALIC (Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company) for annuity misrepresentation. Case Status: In progress. Law Firm:Feazell & Tighe, Austin Texas.
